Innovation Platforms
The Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of New Construction Technologies for Urban Rail Transit Engineering Enterprises, established in 2017 with approval from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, is the only enterprise key laboratory and R&D base in the field of urban rail transit engineering in Guangdong Province.
The key laboratory focuses on various technical research and innovation activities in the field of rail transit engineering, covering innovative technologies such as green construction, energy conservation and environmental protection, safety assurance, and information and digitization. The research areas include safety assurance technology for tunnel facilities, new technologies for underground engineering construction, new technologies for underground engineering maintenance based on the BIM platform, and integrated energy-saving technologies. These technologies feature intelligence, greenness, efficiency, and sustainable development advantages for urban rail transit.
Leveraging the key laboratory, our institute has undertaken national key R&D projects such as disaster prevention and capacity maintenance technology for rail transit civil infrastructure in complex environments and integrated design technology for rail transit with a focus on the whole life cycle cost. We have also embarked on the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's (MOHURD) and Guangdong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's (GDHURD) technological innovation projects, such as the Guangzhou Metro prefabricated station and depot demonstration project, and the underground prefabricated station with an internal support system in complex water-rich strata. Furthermore, we have undertaken major science and technology projects under Guangzhou's key R&D plans, such as the development and application of complete sets of equipment for underground engineering in complex environments. Our institute will continue to adhere to the "Four Orientations," accelerate scientific and technological innovation, and promote high-quality development in the urban rail transit industry.
