Project Description:

Pearl River "one river on both sides of the river" urban landscape zone is one of the Guangzhou city image project, but also an important part of the urban environmental transformation work in Guangzhou, the main goal is to enhance the landscape environment on both sides of the Pearl River, reshaping the image of the "Mother River" along the coast, adding a beautiful scenery line for Guangzhou as an international center city should be. The main objective of the project is to enhance the landscape environment of both sides of the Pearl River, reshape the image of the "Mother River", add a bright landscape for Guangzhou, and reflect the appearance of Guangzhou as an internationalized central city. Through the project, the tourism resources of the Pearl River such as "Pearl River Night Tour" and other new hot spots of Guangzhou tourism will be developed, and at the same time, the comprehensive management of the Pearl River and water bodies will be promoted, which will play a radiating, driving and enhancing role for the surrounding areas along the river and even the urban environment construction of the whole Guangzhou, and effectively help Guangzhou realize the goal of "City of Landscape". The project has been fully affirmed and highly evaluated by provincial and municipal leaders and citizens. The project was awarded the First Prize of Excellent Engineering Survey and Design of Guangzhou City in 2002.

Design Highlights:

1. Unified planning of the 25-kilometer-long landscape along the Pearl River, realizing the four major objectives of continuity, unity, coordination and sustainability of the Pearl River landscape.

2. Highlighting the characteristics of the Pearl River, incorporating the essence of "Lingnan culture", and reflecting the grandeur of the Guangzhou city and the 10-mile-long embankment of the Pearl River.
