Project Description：

Guangzhou tramway connects the prominent landmarks such as Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, Central Business District (CBD) and Canton Tower, which is the  first tramway in the world with on-board supercapacitor to store energy and catenary-free electrification system.

The line was officially opened on December 31, 2014 for trial operation.

The project innovatively put forward technical solutions and safety measures for the super capacitor energy storage tram project。The tramway overcame the worldwide thorny problem of integrating urban transport engineering with cityscape and environmental protection. It creates a precedent for multi-mode transport system combining rail transport and ground public transport.  As the first low-carbon, environmentally friendly, green and people-friendly residential ecological line in China, it is awarded the title of “the most scenic 7.7km ” by China Central Television (CCTV).

The project has won the First Prize of National Excellent Engineering Design (Rail Transit), the Special Prize of Science and Technology of Guangdong Municipal Industry Association, which effectively solves the regional traffic difficulties and realizes the integrated development of city and traffic.

Technical Highlights：

1.The first to adopt super capacitor energy storage 100% low-floor steel-wheel rail type tram.

2.The first tram line adopts an independently designed intelligent signal system, with absolute priority of signal at all intersections.

3、Take the lead in designing a complete set of charging system independently, and for the first time, the super capacitor energy storage can be used to complete the charging during the tram stop.
